D’Arcy Rice · San Francisco, CA

D’Arcy Rice manages Metsu, a fund that invests exclusively in Y Combinator (“YC”) companies.

YC is the world’s most successful startup accelerator. Since 2005 it has backed more than 5,000 companies, including Airbnb, Stripe, OpenAI, Coinbase, and DoorDash, creating over $1.3 trillion in enterprise value, with an acceptance rate more selective than Harvard’s at 0.7%.

Metsu’s edge comes from its access to Paul Graham’s personal investing activity. Paul co-founded YC and remains one of the most respected investors in technology; D’Arcy invests alongside him in some of YC’s highest-conviction companies coming out of each batch, often weeks before the broader venture market.
